The Karate Kake
My sister, Susan, has been seriously training in karate for over 5 years. This past January, she was supposed to test for her black belt, but last summer she tore her ACL during training. After surgery and months of therapy, she got back into full training and passed her black belt test last month! Woo hoo! When we went home for the July 4th weekend, I made a cake to celebrate her amazing accomplishment.

And for my last cake class, I made this cake. It was a lot of fun!

Seriously Jenny!!! You are awesome!!! Before I finished reading the paragraph, my eyes looked ahead and I thought that was an actual robe and black belt. Then I scrolled to you last post and saw those beautiful fun colored cakes. You are just awesome!! How long does it take to make these cakes?

It depends on how long they are. That karate cake took about 3 1/2 hours just for the decoration. The big one took about 10 hours for decoration (it really was big). Hopefully I'll get faster the more I do it.

Jenny, I am so amazed! Those cakes look fabulous!! So can you make a carrot cake into something cool looking? Jason's 30th birthday is this month I was thinking about throwing him a party, but he loves carrot cake. And I don't know what you would have in mind for decorating it, I was thinking something with a canoe and river...any ideas. How much would you charge? And would you, could you make the trip? Maybe at the begining of August? Just some thoughts!
