Course 2 Cake and Mary Margaret

Our friend, Mary Margaret, from college came to visit her parents in Talladega a few weeks ago. We met up with her at a Ruby Tuesday's and had a fun dinner. It was great to see her again! She lives in Texas and is trying to convince us to come run a half-marathon in Houston. Sounds like fun. Anybody in?! Looking at that picture reminds me that I need a haircut.

This is a picture of my most recent cake. During the second course we make these flowers (and birds) during the first 3 weeks. They are made out of a different kind of icing and dry to be almost like hard candy. At the last class meeting, we learn the rope border and basket weave. Then we put all together. This is my cake. I would probably not put all of those flowers on a cake, but I had gone to the trouble to make all of them and decided to just put them all on.

I am loving your cake!! I think that if you had decided not to put all the flowers on there, you could've just eaten them! You definitely deserve that treat for that hard work!

I didn't make my Moses basket. I have thought about it, but since I can't take my normal allergy medicine I don't really feel like making baskets- I am technically allergic to the reed and so I just suck it up every now and then and make one. It is a bummer but that is my life- I am a walking allergy. HA!

I think your hair looks fabulous.

Holy Moly, your cakes are awesome, I'm trying to thik of a reason for you to make a special cake for us...hmmmm, maybe I dont' need a special reason, how much would you charge to make a cake?...We could just have a party and pay you to make a cake, like a "I'm happy it's thursday" party. What kind of cake would you make for that? Whatever!
