New Cake
I helped host a shower for a co-worker this week, and I really wanted to make her cake. I saw a napkin in Hobby Lobby prior one day a month or so ago and got the idea to decorate it like the napkin. She is such a classy lady, and I wanted to make a cool cake for her. Despite a minor breakdown during the decorating part, it came together pretty nicely. I had a pretty crummy week, and I needed this cake to turn out well. I was determined to make it work--for Jill and for me. My stubbornness and determination kicked in, and I would not let this icing win. I won. I was very pleased with the outcome. Of course it's not perfect, but I hope to continue to improve with more and more practice. I think it turned out pretty well.

Um, I think it's GORGEOUS! You are doing an amazing job! What kind of icing are you using? The Wilton one?

Yeah, I had probs with the Wilton recipe too. My flowers had rugged edges as well, never thought that the icing was the problem, thought it was just me! Glad to know it wasn't. :) A lady in my class used a similar icing to yours, I think. It was nice to learn about the different consistencies, but once you know that, it's easier to plan your designs and such.
Keep up the amazing work!

It was the most beautiful, delicious cake I've ever had! Cutting into it felt like I was destroying a precious work of art, but I quickly got over that once I tasted it and went back for seconds.
Thank you, Jenny, for making such a fabulous treat for our celebration of Bradley on his way! You are the BEST!!
